Hokazono has named Chihiro versus Sojo as the favorite fight he has drawn so far. The rest of Part 1 is rooms that have to survive a blade: an auction house, a temple, a hotel, a government basement. The raid (three years ago)
Three Hishaku sorcerers hit the Rokuhira workshop. Kunishige dies in front of Chihiro. Six wartime blades leave the cellar. Enten stays with the son. Off the page, Hokuto murders Ibuki Misaka so Cloud Gouger’s contract opens. The present-tense plot is that raid’s unfinished business. Full file: the raid.
Chihiro vs Sojo
Chapters 9–18. Enten against Cloud Gouger. Mei, cloaked Mei, Yui, Kou. True Realm enters the vocabulary in chapter 14. The Anti-Cloud Gouger Special Forces die in the same city trying to do the state’s version of the job. Enten bisects the sword; Sojo dies in the Datenseki backlash of a mineral he could not tame. The 208th Rakuzaichi
Chihiro walks into the Sazanami house with Cloud Gouger’s stump. Hakuri wakes Isou, then the Storehouse. Tenri eats a half-stable Datenseki tool and pops. Hiyuki’s Flame Bone meets Kyora’s warehouse. Kyora, dying, looks through Shinuchi and sees the Sword Master. Prisoners leave. The building has to live long enough for that. Arc: Rakuzaichi. Architecture: the Storehouse.
Sanso and Senkutsuji
Hiruhiko hits the box the Kamunabi put Uruha in. Steam Squad, Fushimi’s Smoke Axe, a train that does not hold. At Senkutsuji, Hakuri returns Tobimune. Samura clears the temple, then cuts Uruha down. It looks like a Hishaku pact. It is Suzaku: kill the contract, keep the man. Arc: Sword Bearer Assassination.
Kyoto Bloodshed Hotel
Chihiro copies Iai off Kuguri and the house style with his eyes open, then closed. Iori’s seal breaks. Hiruhiko wrecks the building with Play. Samura arrives. Feathers, banquet, goldfish. The daughter and the father occupy the same city again. Place: the hotel. School: Iai White Purity. Essay: Play.
Kamunabi headquarters
Magatsumi in the basement. Kasen’s leak on the table. Kudo dies for Hakuri. Yura spends Shinuchi without drawing it. Shiba dumps the fight onto the street. Akemura leaves the cell in Yura’s offered body. The building that hid the Sword Master is the building that loses him.
