Part 1 of Kagurabachi runs from chapter 1, “Mission,” to chapter 115, “Swordsmith.” It is a revenge commute that becomes a logistics problem that becomes a government possession. The homepage stays small. The story guide is the short map. This page is the long cut: the three movements as they actually spend people, and the corridor that hands the reader to Irishima. First movement: the weather
Chihiro and Shiba have been in Tokyo’s underworld for three years. Cafe Haru Haru, Hinao at the counter, Enten on the boy, a goldfish brief the reader does not yet have words for. Char Kyonagi has seen an Enchanted Blade. Madoka confirms and tries to change and dies for talking. Azami wants Chihiro away from Sojo. Sojo has bought Cloud Gouger from the Hishaku, which is a sale, not a membership. The Anti-Cloud Gouger Special Forces arrive as if six names can solve a stolen sword. Four graves. Hagiwara’s legs. Kazane’s arm. Chihiro’s arm. True Realm. Cloud Gouger breaks. Sojo chooses Datenseki over a quiet death. Hokazono has named this fight as his favorite so far. Volumes 1–2. See Vs. Second movement: the auction
Hiyuki arrives. Shinuchi is listed at the 208th Rakuzaichi. Chihiro surrenders Enten so the seventh blade can scout the Storehouse on its own charge. Hakuri, beaten into emptiness, remembers a woman the auction killed. Isou answers. Storehouse opens. He is one of two Sazanami ever to hold both. Tenri pops on a half-stable stone trying to impress Kyora. Soya loses to the house. Tamaki’s lie fails. Enji asks to die and is told to raise. Inside the Kura, Chihiro spends Cloud Gouger’s last charges to take Enten back. Kyora touches Magatsumi and almost becomes someone else. He dies as himself long enough to admit the son. Prisoners leave. Chihiro hands Magatsumi to the Kamunabi and keeps Enten by joining them. Hakuri is why the table listens. Volumes 3–5. See Rakuzaichi, Storehouse, Hakuri.
Third movement: the long book
A Sanso is attacked. Train to Kokugoku. Hiruhiko boards, Blood Crane, a peer-shaped friendship Chihiro does not want. Hakuri returns Tobimune to Samura at Senkutsuji. Samura clears the temple and cuts Uruha down. Suzaku: kill the contract, keep the man. It looks like a Hishaku pact. It is mercy with a blade. Owl goes up nationwide. The Masumi take Iori toward Kyoto. Toto has blood. Kuguri chases. The Bloodshed Hotel is a school, then a sample, then a demolition. Chihiro shuts his eyes. Iori shields Ikura. The seal breaks because she loved him, not because the ten succeeded. Hiruhiko’s Play takes the upper floors. Samura walks in. Enten versus Tobimune. Chapter 83 says the seventh blade is a retraction. True Realm: Magatsumi’s death. Samura opens his eyes.
Kasen’s leak is on the table. Headquarters. Yukisada in the barrier. Bingo’s lucky charms. Hokuto looking for a real fight. Natsuki on the Volume 10 jacket. Kudo dies for Hakuri. Uruha walks again, Crimson Recital limping. Yura spends Magatsumi at range, then offers the body. Akemura stands up. Samura spends his life in black Suzaku so Chihiro can leave. Iori holds Tobimune. Enten is bisected. Chihiro keeps the pieces and writes notes toward a new Enten. Chapter 115 is “Swordsmith.” The son, finally, is the job title. Volumes 6–11 and the uncollected close.
