Kasen is director. Long beard. Barriers and sealing. He sealed Shinuchi with Ichiki and Yatsuru after the war. He laments that major sorcery clans will not respect a bureau. He believes Enchanted Blades can create order. He conspired with the Hishaku and leaked Kunishige’s location. Three of the ten walked into the workshop. The smith died in front of the son. The six wartime blades left. Enten stayed. The present tense is a three-year commute away from that memo.
This is not a slip. A slip is a drunk clerk. A policy is a man who thinks stolen steel in the right basement is civilization. Kasen used the Hishaku; they used Kasen. Yura wanted Shinuchi’s knot open. Kasen wanted the blades back under a stamp, or at least moving toward a stamp. The raid satisfied neither fantasy cleanly and both fantasies enough to keep the plot alive. Recaps that call the Hishaku a random gang miss the letterhead.
Order as a drug
The Kamunabi exist because the Seitei War existed. They hid Akemura instead of trying him. They filed Malediction as heroes. They locked remaining bearers in Sanso. They wanted the steel under seal. Kasen’s faction wanted the steel used. Those two bureaus share a building until Yura walks to the cell. The leak is how the “used” faction hired an outside method when the “sealed” faction still had the smith in a house with goldfish.
Ichiki trained Shiba and Azami and helped hide Kunishige. Yatsuru’s life’s work is the barrier Yukisada later steals from inside. Azami hates the ten and kills the Shigyu brothers in a hallway. Izaru talks as if Kunishige stole national property. The leadership table is already an argument. Kasen is the argument that won long enough to mail an address. See the org page and Kasen’s file.
Who walked in
Hokuto. Uran. A third raider Ice on the breath, a sword that wants a historic death, a night. Hokuto later murders Ibuki so Cloud Gouger’s contract opens. The leak’s second-order kill is a wartime bearer who had already retired. Sojo buys the weather sword in October. Char is hunted as a stabilizer. Chihiro loses an arm. The first book is the memo’s children.
Hasumi, in Part 2, resigns when the bureau accepts ceasefire terms that include a princess. He is the older scientist who left. Kasen is the later director who stayed and hired criminals. The war book is the institution before the disease is the top job. The present is the disease with a title. Mashiro says no to stolen ore. Kasen says yes to a stolen household. Both men work for versions of the same letterhead.
After the address
Chihiro hands Magatsumi to the Kamunabi after the Rakuzaichi and keeps Enten by joining them. The deal assumes a bureau that wants blades sealed. Kasen’s faction wanted them used. The deal and the leak share a cafeteria. Kudo dies for Hakuri in the same building. Yukisada holds the barrier. Yura offers the body. Akemura stands up in the director’s favorite tool. The state that covered up Malediction is possessed by Malediction’s author. The leak’s last joke is that order arrives, and it has flowers.
