Chihiro is a Rokuhira because he was raised in the workshop. He is a Soga because Chiaki is his mother and Akemura is his uncle. The book spends Part 1 teaching the first fact and Part 2 teaching the second. Auction-house children, a sealed daughter, a regenerative last, old kings under the sea: those are the other trees.
Rokuhira
Kunishige forged all seven Enchanted Blades. Picky weapons dealer, then hermit smith. Murdered in the raid at 37. Chihiro, 18, inherits Enten and the cellar’s unfinished brief. The household is a bowl of goldfish and a house that had to hide. Place: the workshop.
Soga
Mainland prophecy aristocracy. They pushed the old sorcerer kings, the Mikaboshi, off the mainland. Chiaki Soga is Princess Soga in Part 2: living foresight, inherited proof of Izanami, Chihiro’s mother. Akemura Soga is her brother, Sword Master, Magatsumi, Malediction. Sazanami
Two centuries of auction. Kyora is the head who lists Shinuchi and dies looking through it. Hakuri is the disowned son who becomes the warehouse. The Tou, household military: Soya, Tenri, Tamaki, Enji. Only two Sazanami ever held both Isou and Storehouse. Firm file: Sazanami.
Samura
Seiichi Samura, Tobimune, Suzaku, the owl. Iori, the daughter the Masumi sealed so the Hishaku would hunt a man without a child on the board. The hotel is where that seal breaks. School: both of them sit in Iai White Purity under Itsuo Shirakai, with Uruha as the other famous student. Chihiro copies the style. He is not family. He is a reader.
Kyonagi
Char is the last. Regeneration, including other people. Sojo held her as a stabilizer. Chihiro’s group holds her as a child. The clan is a people the plot already killed except for her. Birthday December 21.
Mikaboshi and the rest
The Mikaboshi were sorcerer kings the Soga drove into the sea. Datenseki-adapted bodies. Shokoku rising is those kings coming back for the ore. Ariu’s Sumika is insect work; a camp treats Magatsumi as that kit recast in steel. Civilian sorcerers handle small jobs; the Kamunabi exist because some jobs are national.
