Overview
Kumeyuri is theater. Banquet takes the senses; Play takes the set. Spirit energy leaves as faceless oiran. It was the fifth blade Kunishige forged. A wartime sword that throws a banquet and then plays with the room, not weather, not flowers, not a household bowl.
War bearer, Uruha
Yoji Uruha was chosen young and never recovered from being chosen. He mastered Iai White Purity by sixteen. During the Seitei War he carried Kumeyuri. After the war the remaining bearers were locked in Sanso fortresses; Uruha’s was Kokugoku Hot Spring. Kunishige’s death emptied him. Chihiro’s existence refilled the oath.
The Hishaku send Hiruhiko and Datenseki infantry at the train to Kokugoku. The fight falls into a kabuki house. At Senkutsuji, Samura “kills” Uruha, Suzaku, not betrayal, so the Lifelong Contract dies and Kumeyuri can be pulled off the board. Uruha wakes in a morgue with Crimson Recital coming back. Hiruhiko
Hiruhiko does not love objects. He is the Hishaku’s loudest younger blade: Blood Crane on the train, then Kumeyuri when the contract opens. He discovers the extension the war bearer never needed. If Play is respect, then contempt is a wrecking ball. Destructive Play is that reading, not a new named art, the same technique spent as demolition. The Kyoto Bloodshed Hotel loses its upper floors to it.
Samura takes the blade off him. Ro of the Masumi recovers it. Volume 6 and 8 jackets put Hiruhiko in the blood center opposite Chihiro; recap channels treat him as the next Sojo. Chihiro refuses the sequel.
Banquet and Play
Two named techniques are on the page.
- Banquet 宴, sense-killing hallucination. Ears can be reinforced against it. The room becomes a play the wielder is already watching.
- Play 遊, move objects. Respect makes the telekinesis smoother. Hiruhiko’s contempt spends the same art as a demolition tool.
War role, as far as the printed chapters have said it: a banquet on a battlefield is not support in the Tobimune sense. It is a room that stops being real for everyone who is not holding the sword.
Who wanted it
Fifth forged. Uruha chosen. Natsuki a candidate, resentment printed. Hiruhiko signed after Samura’s false death; Destructive Play wrecks the hotel because he does not respect objects. Samura takes it back. Ro recovers it. Banquet fools the senses; reinforced ears mitigate; fatal wounds can snap it. Play’s fluency scales with respect. Two briefs, one steel.
