After the raid, Chihiro and Shiba do not join the Kamunabi. They go into Tokyo’s sorcerer underworld and stay there until the auction forces a different building. Small jobs. Hinao’s lights. A sighting of Char. Madoka talking. Sojo’s compound. The Anti-Cloud Gouger squad dying in the same city trying to do the state’s version of the work. The Kamunabi want Chihiro out of the street. Civilian sorcerers
A modern Japan that had to admit sorcery in public, then lie about what it did with it. Civilian sorcerers handle small jobs: debts, retrievals, the kind of work that does not need a national stamp. The Kamunabi exist because some jobs are national. Enchanted Blades are the rare version of Datenseki that overflow as weather instead of craters. Most people on this street will never see one. Chihiro walks in with the seventh and a coat already stained. That is why the early chapters look like a revenge story about a boy with a secret sword. They are a job board that keeps being interrupted by a national weapon.
Cafe Haru Haru
Hinao runs the shop. Shiba’s civilian door. The sit-down between jobs. Char ends up here. The voiced comic already gave Hinao a throat: Akari Tadano. The Cypic series has not captioned her yet on this site. The cafe is furniture the way the bowl is furniture. You eat. Then someone names a sighting. Page: the cafe.
Norisaku Madoka, Daruma sorcerer, works for Sojo and dies for talking. Chapter 8 is his name on the title: “Norisaku Madoka: I Will Change.” He is the underworld’s warning label. Talk about the customer and the customer ends you. Sojo is not Hishaku. He is a buyer with a compound and a hunger to fake Kunishige’s eyes.
Sojo’s side of the street
Yura sells Cloud Gouger in early October. Sojo uses it to chase Char and the idea that Kyonagi cells can stabilize Datenseki. About 250 kilograms of the mineral known. Stones that hold for a few minutes. One pair of eyes ever made it safe. The Anti-Cloud Gouger Special Forces are six people built for this one stolen sword. Four die at the compound. Hagiwara loses his legs. Kazane loses an arm. That is the state’s best offer against a customer. Page: the squad. Arc: Vs. Sojo.
Enten bisects Cloud Gouger. Sojo dies in the backlash. Chihiro keeps the stump. Even a dead blade can still spend a few charges of Mei. He will walk into the Rakuzaichi with that leftover. The underworld taught the rules. The auction teaches architecture.
Yakuza and the ten
The Hishaku are allied with Korogumi yakuza. Flame tattoos and a shared fire-gate sit next to ordinary crime the way Enchanted Blades sit next to ordinary sorcery: the same street, a different scale. The ten are not a gang that happened to find swords. They are a method. The yakuza are the neighborhood they can walk through. Kasen is the national door they bought. Sojo is the customer they sold. Kyora is the auctioneer who listed their masterpiece. Those are different hungers that share a city.
After the Rakuzaichi, Chihiro hands Magatsumi to the Kamunabi and keeps Enten by joining them. The street does not disappear. Cafe Haru Haru is still Hinao’s. Char is still the last Kyonagi. The long book just moves the hunt into Sanso, a hotel, and a basement. The underworld is where the son learned he would not spend civilians. Official chapters: VIZ / MANGA Plus.
What the street taught
True Realm enters the vocabulary in chapter 14 because a customer on this street pushed Cloud Gouger into slaughter. The Anti-Cloud Gouger squad is the state’s admission that a stolen wartime blade in a civilian compound is already a national emergency, and their deaths are the admission that the emergency outran the squad. Chihiro versus Sojo is the favorite fight Hokazono has named; it is also a neighborhood argument about who is allowed to hold weather. Battle file: battles.
The people who walk with Chihiro after this book — Shiba already, then Char, then later Hakuri and Hiyuki — start as street decisions. Keep the child. Stay in the cafe. Do not become Sojo.
