Overview
Once Magatsumi entered the field, Japan could walk onto the island. That is the official sentence. The unofficial one is Malediction: Akemura’s bloodlust aimed the blade’s life-drain at an entire civilian population and grew flowers out of 200,000 people after a treaty existed.
The steel weeps black, darkens ground, and blooms. Touch the field and branches find your mouth. The wielder eats what the field takes. Anyone who holds the sheathed blade starts becoming Akemura Soga. It is the only Enchanted Blade without a tidy three-technique kit and the only one that can overwrite another body. It can bypass its own contract.
Malediction
Malediction (Kodoku) is not one of the insect names. It is an extension, True Realm as policy. After the treaty, Akemura decided the islanders should end, and the blade learned a wider mouth. Flowers are the visual because the sword already ate people as gardens; he simply asked for a field the size of a nation. About 200,000 civilians. The other bearers failed in the room. The Kamunabi succeeded in the press. They filed it as victory and hid the man. Full argument: The Malediction.
Akemura handed himself in. Kunishige confiscated the six blades. The Sword Master sat in a basement because nobody could simply execute him: if he dies, the other five wartime bearers die with him.
Named arts
Magatsumi refuses the three-count. The named arts on this site are insects. They are not a closed list of “the three moves.”
- Spider, pins. Nishiki’s cloak is built to shrug it, and the vitality-drain under it.
- Dragonfly, a directional disaster.
- Bee, the other directional disaster.
- Centipede, omnidirectional.
- Butterfly, cuts a building and keeps going.
The field itself is the constant: black drip, darkened ground, blooms. The insects are how the field is aimed.
The contract knot
Lifelong Contracts bind each wartime blade to one nervous system. Magatsumi’s contract is the master key. Kill Akemura and the other five wartime bearers die. Destroy Magatsumi and the knot comes apart. That is why the Hishaku spent three years trying to open contracts by killing bearers, and why Yura wanted the Sword Master dead, until he spoke to the man and changed the math.
Enten sits outside the knot. Kunishige built it after the war, as a retraction. Its True Realm is this sword’s death. See Enten.
Proxies
Kyora Sazanami listed Shinuchi at the 208th Rakuzaichi after Yura cracked its seal. Dying in the collapsing Storehouse, Kyora unsheathed the blade and almost became someone else. He dies as himself, the only kindness the book gives him, and the Sword Master has already looked through the auctioneer’s eyes.
Yura spent Magatsumi without drawing it, then, losing to Chihiro and Samura, offered the body. Akemura took it. Possession is the bypass: the contract does not need a new bearer if the old one can wear a new skin. Full movement: Sword Bearer Assassination.
