The basement
Akemura Soga is the Sword Master, Magatsumi’s Lifelong Contract, the master key. If he dies, the other five wartime bearers die with him. That is why the Kamunabi keep a monster in a basement instead of executing him. Malediction, 蠱, about 200,000 civilians, is the crime the press filed as victory.
Yura spends Shinuchi without drawing it. He offers a body. Akemura leaves the cell in that offer. The building that hid the Sword Master loses him. Kasen’s leak made the workshop possible. This offer makes the war’s unpaid invoice walk.
The knot
Destroy Magatsumi and the knot comes apart. Until then every rescue is logistics. Hakuri can move the steel. Chihiro’s True Realm is the death of this sword. Yura’s offer is the Hishaku answer to a basement: do not unmake the knot, wear it. See Akemura and Magatsumi.
