The workshop as the unit
Chihiro Rokuhira grows up in isolation after the Seitei War, in a house that is also a forge. Kunishige is the man the press later treats as a wartime miracle. At the table he is a picky eater who barely finishes what Subaru sends over. The goldfish bowl is furniture before it is a fighting language. Enten is forged here, about fifteen years after the war, because every attempt to smash the wartime six fails.
The raid ends the household in one night. Three Hishaku sorcerers hit the workshop. Kunishige dies in front of the son. Six wartime blades leave the cellar. Enten stays. The present-tense plot is that unfinished business. Chihiro’s first engine is revenge. The blade he holds was never built as a trophy. Its True Realm is Magatsumi’s death.
What the son keeps
The goldfish stay. Kuro, Aka, Nishiki. Hokazono has said they are goldfish, not koi. The coat is black because the house was painted that way. When Chihiro later writes notes toward a new Enten and even a new Cloud Gouger, the revenge engine has become a smith’s ledger. Part 2 does not stay with the son. It goes to the kiln that will make the ledger necessary.
Chapter 114 is titled Kunishige Rokuhira. Chapter 115 is Swordsmith. Those are present-tense titles on a man the first page already buried. Volume 12 is solicited to carry them. The father is not a flashback garnish. He is the job the son inherited, and the job the war book puts back on the page as labor.
Who else held the household
Togo Shiba left the Kamunabi when the smith hid. Azami stayed inside and spent political capital the other way. Subaru Urita took a liking to Kunishige immediately: another smith, impossible eyes. Chiaki Soga is the mother Part 2 names. The raid is not only a murder. It is a mailing address a director later admits he leaked. See Kunishige, Chihiro, and the workshop.
