In a Da Vinci interview Hokazono said that while drawing he thought it might be early, then read Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man and felt the current magazine’s sense of speed. He tries to keep readers engaged by moving. In the same stretch he said he did not want to make the book too entertaining; he wanted a story about people fighting each other. Animehunch and the English room circulated the quotes in 2025–2026.
