The method
Hishaku method for an Enchanted Blade you do not hold: kill the bearer, open the Lifelong Contract, sell or assign the steel. Hokuto is the swordsman who opened Cloud Gouger that way. Ibuki had retired. The murder is not a wartime duel. It is logistics for Yura’s sale.
Volume 10’s jacket puts Hokuto next to Natsuki. The younger brother is voltage. The Hishaku is the man who made the elder a grave. Chihiro later holds a dying Cloud Gouger on leftover charges and writes notes toward forging it again. The contract-opening is already under those notes.
The raid night
The workshop raid is three Hishaku, including Hokuto and Uran. Kunishige dies. Ibuki’s murder is off that page and on the same plan. See Hokuto and the raid.
