How the pair starts
Hakuri Sazanami is the disowned son of the eleventh head. At the 208th Rakuzaichi he is not yet a Storehouse. He is a body the clan already decided was leftover. Chihiro walks into that house with Cloud Gouger’s stump and a job that is still revenge wearing a coat. The auction is two centuries of warehousing people. Hakuri is the error that ends the firm.
Isou wakes when Hakuri stops scattering his own spirit energy. The Storehouse follows. He is the only living Sazanami to hold both. That is not a power-up montage. It is why Magatsumi can be hidden when Yukisada splits the Kamunabi barrier, and why Chihiro’s deal with the bureau has a logistics officer instead of a speech.
What each spends
Chihiro spends a body without spending the people inside a building. Hakuri spends a household he was born into. Tenri eats a half-stable Datenseki tool and pops. Soya crawls out with amnesia and a volume extra about memories he would like to misplace. Kyora, dying, looks through Shinuchi and sees the Sword Master. The pair leave the auction with a masterpiece for the state and Enten still in the son’s hand.
Later rooms keep using them as a two-man firm. Kiri escorts Hakuri toward Shinuchi. Kudo dies for Hakuri at headquarters. The Storehouse walks because Hakuri walks. Chihiro can cut. He cannot be in two prefectures. See Hakuri, the architecture essay, and the Storehouse.
