Overview
Sumi is the Masumi kunoichi with a cross-shaped tattoo on the right side of the face. Transportation mandalas, drawn with a marker: that is how Hakuri and Uruha reach Senkutsuji from the station. She tends Hakuri’s treatment so Storehouse can be used without killing him. In Operation: Easy Does It she takes Iori on a motorcycle while Kuguri gives chase. Blood tracking versus a drawn door. She is the reason the Kyoto Bloodshed Hotel is even a possible veil. Sengoku’s Reigen house is the building. Sumi’s marker is the road.
Toto has Samura’s blood. The dark was never complete. Sumi still has to ride. The clan that erased Iori’s father is the clan putting Iori on a bike. Both jobs are hers in the sense that the map is hers. Ro files steel. Moku files meals. Sumi files distance.
The marker
A mandala you can draw is logistics the Storehouse would recognize: a room that is not a room until someone spends ink. Hakuri is the walking Kura. Sumi is the paper door. She keeps him alive enough to open it. Without that care the temple never receives Tobimune on time, Samura never clears the grounds, Suzaku never looks like a Hishaku pact. The marker is upstream of the false death. Recaps that start the long book on a train without Sumi are starting after the map.
The motorcycle
Owl nationwide. Hishaku want a daughter as a lever. Chihiro goes along to tell the truth rather than re-seal it. Kuguri scorns hobby swordsmanship and then falls in love with a fake Iai. Toto holds the clock. Sumi rides. Ikura trails a tracker because a loner was shown kindness. Iori’s seal breaks on a shield. Play takes the upper floors. Sumi’s job in that demolition is still the road: get the girl to a building, then get her through a myth. After Samura dies, Tobimune is Iori’s.
